    360 KB/Intota/Summon: Ebrary and EBL Databases Retirement Notification -- May 31, 2018

What is happening to ProQuest Ebrary and EBL databases in 360KB, Intota, and Summon?

Ebrary and EBL upgrades to Ebook Central were completed at the end of December 2017. In order to maintain accurate and current metadata the existing Ebrary and EBL databases will be removed May 31, 2018.

Actions you need to take before May 31, if you are still tracking Ebrary or EBL databases:

360 KB Intota, and Client Center Users:

    1. You should subscribe to the applicable Ebook Central databases in the 360KB:

      • Subscriptions: If you are unsure about which subscription or database you should activate, we have prepared Ebrary-to-Ebook Central database mappings. Please refer to the attached file.
      • Perpetual and DDA : choose “Ebook Central Perpetual and DDA Titles” database

    2. You should verify that your URL substitutions for Ebook Central SiteID are correct for your institution. Ebook Central SiteID may be different than what your institution has used for Ebrary.

    3. You should unsubscribe to the Ebrary and/or EBL databases.

The 360KB Content Team have been maintaining Ebook Central collections and holdings, so if you select subscription databases in their entirety, once you switch from Ebrary to Ebook Central you should see no disruption in service. If you select titles individually from any collection, we suggest you use Automated Holdings Management

Additional information on setting up Ebook Central databases in 360KB can be found here: What does my library need to do when we add a ProQuest Ebooks database?

    • Client Center users click here.

DDA and Purchased Titles Automatic Tracking:

    • If you are migrating your holdings from from ebrary Perpetual Access, PDA and STL (database id JJU) to Ebook Central Perpetual and DDA (database code AABBV, we suggest you use Automated Holdings Management

    360 MARC Updates Users:

    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs or database specific information to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after you may have taken the recommended actions or by the MARC record delivery in June 2018.

    Summon Users:

    • As long as you have made the necessary changes in Client Center and Intota, you should see no disruption in your Summon experience.
