    360 KB: Kikuzo II Visual for Libraries and Kikuzo II Visual for Libraries (Discovery) from Asahi Shimbun Company: Database Names Change -- September, 2022

    What is happening to the name of databases Kikuzo II Visual for Libraries and Kikuzo II Visual for Libraries (Discovery)?

    In spring 2022, Newspaper publisher in Japan Asahi Shimbun Company changed the platform from KIKUZO II Visual(聞蔵Ⅱビジュアル) to Asahi Shimbun Cross Search（朝日新聞クロスサーチ).

    Therefore, we will be changing the database names in the Knowledgebase. The content of the databases, and the database IDs (QLY & AFUOB), will remain the same.

    This change will take effect on September 1, 2022:

    Note: These databases are hidden. If you would like to subscribe them, please contact Ex Libris Support team.

    When searching Summon for these contents:

    The provider Asahi Shimbun requested a restricted process for libraries to subscribe these databases in 360 Client Center.

    1. Make sure the library is a paid user for Asahi Shimbun Cross Search
    2. Ask the approval to Asahi Shimbun via email. Please submit a Case to Ex Libris Support for more detailed procedure.
    3. Asahi Shimbun gives the library the approval and tell Ex Libris Support the result.
    4. Since the database is hidden, Ex Libris Support subscribes it in 360 Client Center on behalf of the library.

     

    Actions you may need to take:

    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name as it appears in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after September 1, 2022.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
