360 KB: National Index to Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals, 1911-1949 from Shanghai Wenda Information: Database Migration -- February, 2018

What is happening to the database National Index to Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals, 1911-1949?

The database National Index to Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals, 1911-1949 from the provider Shanghai Wenda Information is a duplicate of Chinese Periodical Full-Text Database (1833-1949), database code 06T.

Chinese Periodical Full-text Database (1911-1949), database code 06T, will change its database name to Chinese Periodical Full-Text Database (1833-1949) on February 28, 2018.

In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on the Knowledgebase collection policy), all titles will be removed from National Index to Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals, 1911-1949 database in the Knowledgebase on February 28, 2018. The database will become a zero-titles database. (NOTE: The database code for this database is 8JQ.)

This change will take effect on February 28, 2018:

    • Before February 28, 2018: National Index to Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals, 1911-1949
    • After February 28, 2018: Chinese Periodical Full-Text Database (1833-1949), database code 06T.

    Action you need to take:

    • Update the holdings in your Intota or Client Center profile by subscribing to the new database instead of the old database.  For information on how to update your profile, and considerations prior to removing the old database from your profile:
      • Intota users click here.
      • Client Center users click here.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs or database specific information to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after February 28, 2018.
