360 KB: ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Washington Post (1877-2001) from ProQuest: Database Name Change -- January 2022

What is happening to the name of database ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Washington Post (1877-2001)?

The database ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Washington Post (1877-2001) from the provider ProQuest does not adequately reflect the coverage dates of the database holdings. As of December 2021, coverage extends through 2004.

Therefore, we will be changing the database name in the Knowledgebase. The content of the database, and the database ID (DN9), will remain the same.

This change will take effect on January 10, 2022:

    • Before January 10: ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Washington Post (1877-2001)
    • After January 10: ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Washington Post

Please note that at this time, we are not making any changes to the title of ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Washington Post, The (1877-1922) (DB code: 89O).

Actions you may need to take:

    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name as it appears in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after January 10.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
