360 KB: Project MUSE Available Titles and Title Lists

    • Product: 360 KB

According to the title list on the Project MUSE website, my collection is supposed to have more titles than Serials Solutions is listing. What is the reason for the discrepancy?

Project MUSE includes all of the titles that the current year license will cover on its title lists. These lists do not indicate what titles are currently available. Each year many titles are added to Project MUSE and these titles launch throughout the year. Serials Solutions does not track titles that do not have cover-to-cover full text available. Instead we add titles as they become available throughout the year.

Typically, Project MUSE creates a placeholder site for each journal before it launches and adds it to its list of journals. Once an issue (actual full-text content) is available, clients are alerted through RSS or email that it is available.

It is within one month after this time that Serials Solutions will add the title to the appropriate Project MUSE databases.
