    • Product: 360 KB

How are Springer databases created and updated?

Ebook databases are split according to subject collection and publication year. They may also be divided into archival and contemporary subject collections:

    • archival collections contain ebooks prior to 2005

    • contemporary collections contain ebooks published after 2004

    For example:

    • SpringerLink ebooks - Behavioral Science (Archive and Contemporary) – contains all ebooks in the subject collection

    • SpringerLink ebooks - Behavioral Science (Archive) – contains pre-2005 ebooks

    • SpringerLink ebooks - Behavioral Science (Contemporary) – contains 2005-present ebooks

The collections are updated based on the title lists at http://www.springer.com/?referer=springer.com&SGWID=1-148802-3020-0-0.

Journal databases are divided into archival and contemporary subject collections:

    • archival collections contain journals with articles published prior to 1997.

    • contemporary collections contain journals with articles published after 1996.

The most common journal packages are:

    • Springer Online Journals Complete (DBID: SOJ) – contains all journals

    • SpringerLink Journal Archives (DBID: RHV) – contains journals with articles published prior to 1997

    • SpringerLink Contemporary (DBID: RSV) – contains 1997-present journals

    • Springer for R&D Journals Complete (DBID: -BR) – contains all journals for R&D clients

    • Springer for R&D Journal Archives (DBID: -BP) – contains journals with articles published prior to 1997 for R&D clients

    • Springer for R&D Contemporary (DBID: -5G) – contains journals with articles published after 1996 for R&D clients

The above Journal packages are updated using the title lists at: http://link.springer.com/lists

The Journal Archives title list is updated annually at http://www.springer.com/librarians/e-content/journal+archives?SGWID=0-1732313-0-0-0.

Book series databases are created by series and divided into contemporary (1997-present) or archival (pre-1997) collections. Book series fall under different subscriptions according to Springer, and are not part of any journal or ebook packages.

The following lecture series are sold as by publication year as well, so they are represented by publication year (similar to ebooks). Note that these series are not part of the broader subject collection (i.e., Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics) and must be subscribed to separately.

    • Lecture Notes in Computer Science

    • Lecture Notes in Mathematics

    • Lecture Notes in Physics
