360 KB: Titles Missing and Changes Requested to Titles in the Ebook Library Database -- Spring 2015

    • Product: 360 KB

There appear to be titles missing from the Ebook Library Database from the provider Ebook Library.  Also, I would like to request some changes to titles in this database.  What is happening to the Ebook Library Database?

In early April 2014, ProQuest moved to a new automated delivery system for the metadata for titles within the Ebook Library Database (database code AZZ).  (For more information about this automated system, please see Client Center: Automated Holdings Management.)  However, we have discovered that not all the necessary titles in the Ebook Library collection made a successful transition to the new automated delivery system.

Our developers are actively working on ensuring that all necessary titles for the Ebook Library collection are included in database AZZ in the Knowledgebase.  We do not have an estimate for when this work will be completed.

Until there is a full resolution to the issue, we recommend that libraries that are experiencing titles missing from AZZ set up a Library Managed Holdings database for their missing titles.  Instructions on how to do so can be found at 360 Core: Library-Specific (Library-Managed) Holdings Database -- Overview.  Please note that due to the new automated nature of this collection, the Data Team cannot add titles by hand to this collection.  Also because of the new automated update method, the Data Team is restricted in their ability to make changes to metadata within the Ebook Library collection, e.g. changes to title names, dates published, ISBNs, etc.

We thank you for your patience as we work to restore all the necessary titles to the Ebook Library collection and we apologize for any inconvenience caused as we work towards a full resolution.
