360 KB: Women Writers Online: Title-Level URL Domain Change and Provider Name Change – July 2014

    • Product: 360 KB

What is happening to the database Women Writers Online?

    1. Provider name change

The provider Brown University is no longer providing the database Women Writers Online; instead, it is being provided by Northeastern University.

Therefore, we will be changing the provider associated with the Women Writers Online database in the 360 KB knowledgebase.

This change will take effect on July 16, 2014:
Before July 16, 2014: Brown University
After July 16, 2014:  Northeastern University

This will affect the following databases:
    • Women Writers Online, database code EJJ

Actions you may need to take:
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the provider name as it appears in the Client Center to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after July 16, 2014.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as SFX, EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-Serials Solutions tools that require the provider name to function, you should note the change in Serials Solutions' provider name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.

    2. Title-Level URL Domain Change

Due to the change in provider for the Women Writers Online, there has also been a title-level linking syntax change for this database. Therefore, we will be changing the title-level linking syntax in the 360 KB knowledgebase. The content of the database will remain the same.

This change will take effect on July 16, 2014:
        Before July 16, 2014: http://www.wwp.brown.edu
        After July 16, 2014: http://www.wwp.northeastern.edu

Actions you may need to take:
    • Make sure that either http://www.wwp.northeastern.edu or *northeastern.edu is included in your proxy configuration before July 16, 2014.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after July 16, 2014.
