360 KB: Human Rights Studies Online from Alexander Street Press: Database Migration and Name Change -- July 2015

    • Product: 360 KB

What is happening to the databases Human Rights Studies Online (Text) and Human Rights Studies Online (Video)?

The provider Alexander Street Press has notified us that all customers for Human Rights Studies Online have access to both text and video content sets.

In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on the Knowledgebase collection policy), we will therefore be merging the Human Rights Studies Online (Text) [DBID: W0P] and Human Rights Studies Online (Video) [DBID: W0Q] databases into a single collection, by taking the following actions:

    1. We will be changing the name of the Human Rights Studies Online (Video) database. The database ID ([DBID]), will remain the same. This change will take effect on July 9, 2015:

Before July 9: Human Rights Studies Online (Video)

After July 9: Human Rights Studies Online, database code W0Q

    Action you need to take:

    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs or database specific information to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after July 9, 2015.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as SFX, EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.

    2. The database Human Rights Studies Online (Text) will be hidden in the Knowledgebase on July 9, 2015. Libraries that currently subscribe to the database will continue to have access to this database. However if your library is not already subscribed, you will not be able to view this database in the Knowledgebase. (NOTE: The database code for this database is W0P.)

Before July 9: Human Rights Studies Online (Text)

After July 9: Human Rights Studies Online, database code W0Q

    Action you need to take:

    • Once the above change takes effect, update the holdings in your Intota or Client Center profile by subscribing to the new database instead of the old database.  For information on how to update your profile, and considerations prior to removing the old database from your profile:

    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs or database specific information to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after July 9, 2015.
