360 KB: Knovel non-Academic Collection Databases: Titles Will Be Removed -- Nov. 2016

    • Product: 360 KB

What is happening to the Knovel non-Academic Collection databases from the provider Elsevier?

ProQuest currently has title-level information for the Knovel non-Academic Collection databases from provider Elsevier in the Knowledgebase. The provider has created new subject-specific Corporate Collection databases and the existing “generic” (non-academic) subject-specific databases and Premium Content databases are being retired.

The Knovel non-Academic Collection databases from the provider Elsevier are no longer being updated. In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on our Knowledgebase collection policy), all titles will be removed from the Knovel non-Academic Collection databases and the databases will be hidden in the Knowledgebase on 30 November, 2016. The databases will become zero-titles databases, and no future subscriptions will be possible. (NOTE: Please see this spreadsheet for details on the database names and database codes.) If your library is subscribed to any of these non-Academic Collection databases, please check with Knovel to determine whether you should subscribe instead to the Academic or Corporate equivalent of the database(s).
