    360 KB: LexisNexis Quicklaw and Lexis Advance from LexisNexis: Database Name Change -- May, 2018

    What is happening to the names of databases LexisNexis Quicklaw and Lexis Advance?

    Databases LexisNexis Quicklaw and Lexis Advance from the provider LexisNexis will be re-named to specify the name Canada in its content. Additionally, the provider name will also be changed to specify Canada.

    Therefore, we will be changing both databases names in the Knowledgebase. The content of the databases, and the database IDs (D4F and LNFIA), will remain the same.

    This change will take effect on May 10, 2018:

    • Database name before May 10, 2018: LexisNexis Quicklaw
    • Database name after May 10, 2018: LexisNexis Quicklaw Canada
    • Database name before May 10, 2018: Lexis Advance
    • Database name after May 10, 2018: Lexis Advance Canada

     

    • Provider name before May 10, 2018: LexisNexis
    • Provider name after May 10, 2018: LexisNexis Canada

     

    Actions you may need to take:

    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name as it appears in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after May 10, 2018.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
