360 KB: Thieme-Connect Database: Titles Will Be Removed -- December, 2021

What is happening to the database Thieme-Connect?

ProQuest currently has both serial and monograph title-level information for database Thieme-Connect from provider Thieme in the Knowledgebase. According to the provider, the current sales model for Thieme-Connect is serials only.

In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on the Knowledgebase collection policy), all monograph titles will be removed from Thieme-Connect database in the Knowledgebase on December 17, 2021. The serial content will not change. (NOTE: The database code for this database is RTC.)

Current subscribers of Thieme-Connect (database code RTC) please subscribe to database: Thieme E-Library (database code RTO) for monograph content.

In addition, to reflect the provider package name, The database Thieme-Connect from the provider Thieme will be changed n the Knowledgebase. The content of the database, and the database ID (RTC), will remain the same.

    • Before December 17, 2021: Thieme-Connect
    • After December 17, 2021: ThiemeConnect

Actions you may need to take:

    • If you are a 360 Resource Manager, 360 Counter, or Intota client, you may need to make some changes to your account settings before December 17, 2021:
      • Intota users click here.
      • Client Center users click here.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name as it appears in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after December 17, 2021.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
