    Intota Assessment: 360 COUNTER Reports: Databases

    What can you tell me about the data in these reports?


    360 COUNTER Database Reports let you analyze e-resource usage through any of the interfaces you offer to your patrons, such as the native database interfaces and ProQuest discovery services.

    The database reports below include the following information:
    • Report: The report name

    • Data Source: Where the data is coming from. If the report includes multiple sources, the most pertinent source is listed.

      • COUNTER reports from providers need to be uploaded to your Intota or Client Center profile in order for the consolidated reports below to display data. For information about uploading COUNTER reports: Intota users click here.

    Databases (R4)

    Report Data Source Notes
    Top Chart DB1 reports. Displays the Top 20 databases based on overall DB1 activity (Regular Searches, Searches - federated and automated, Result Clicks, and Record Views).


    Note: Adobe Flash Player plugin needed for viewing Top Charts reports.
     
    Dbase Report DB1 report. Cost comes from library-provided information in Intota or 360 Resource Manager. Results come from Total Searches, Result Clicks, and Record Views (DB1) using metric ft_total (total full text requests). Cost is included when costs have been added to your Client Center or Intota profile.

    Use the Month - Year and Report View filters to include a quarterly or monthly view of your requested timeframe.

    Generate Fiscal Year report by selecting Yearly for Report Type filter. Results will display a Select View drop-down menu at the top of the report:
    • FY is for viewing Fiscal Year
    • CY is for viewing Calendar Year

    Dbase Performers DB1 reports. View all databases on Searches and Sessions for a specified time frame.
    Dbase Change in Use DB1 reports. Choose to include in the report: Resources with Negative change, No change, and/or Positive change. Change in use is displayed as percent (%) change.
    Dbase Turnaways DB2 reports. A turnaway (rejected session) is defined as an unsuccessful log-in to an electronic service due to exceeding the simultaneous-user limit allowed by the license.

    Click on a year to drill down to quarters and months.
    Dbase Zero Usage DB1 reports. Query resources without any usage. Search any time period equal or greater than one month.
    Dbase Usage by Fund DB1 reports. Fund names are retrieved from your Intota or Client Center profile.

    Multimedia Requests (MR1) MR1 reports. Multimedia, as defined by Project COUNTER, is audio, video, images, etcetera that are content items in themselves. In other words, the multimedia items are not part of journals, books, etcetera.
    Platform Report PR1 reports. Searches, Federated Searches, Result Clicks and Record Views by Platform.

    Use the Month - Year and Report View filters to include a quarterly or monthly view of your requested timeframe.
     
    Provider Report BR1, BR2, BR4, BR5, JR1, DB1, DB2, DB3, MR1, PR1 reports Uses, Searches, Sessions, Turnaways, Result Clicks and Record Views by Provider. Click on a year to drill down to half-years, quarters and months.
    Combined Service and Platform DB3 and PR1 reports. Searches, Federated Searches, Sessions, Federated Sessions by Service and Provider. Click on a year to drill down to quarters and months.
    Service Report DB3 reports. Searches, Federated Searches, Sessions, and Federated Sessions by Service.
    • COUNTER Code of Practice Release 4 considers the Platform Report as a replacement for the Service Report.
