    Upgrade Express - Running v20 & v21 www_server's on same server

    • Article Type: Q&A
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Question

Is it possible to run Aleph 20 and Aleph 21 at the same time, on the same server? If so, how is this done ?

Specifically, both Aleph 20 and Aleph 21 are pointing to http://aleph-xxxu.edu.

    Answer

Yes, it is possible to run both v20 and v21 on the same server -- but they need to have distinct ports.

Currently, the v20 Web user connects to http://aleph-xxxu.edu:80/F.

v21 users will need to connect to a different apache port (such as, 8992). That is: http://aleph-xxxu.edu:8992/F .

(Or, alternatively, v20 could be changed to use 8991 and v21 could use port 80.)

And the v21 www_server will need to run on port 4992 (since v20 is using 4991).
