Configuring Your Portal View ============================ campusM can function as a student portal when viewed on the web. Portal functionality includes a side navigation bar with links to the menu services of your choice. When you open any menu service, it displays fully and exclusively in the main panel, and there is a breadcrumb trail for your orientation and backtracking. The portal functionality appears only if configured and when accessing campusM via web, as opposed to via native mobile apps. To configure portal functionality, go to App Builder. For the displayed device, select a web device, and select your desired Profile. Now under App Config, there's a new option: Portal Style. Select With Side Navigation to activate portal functionality. We can now see a preview of the navigation sidebar. You can customize the appearance of the side bar and other portal functionality in the Portal Config section of the App Config Panel. For example, you can change the background color of the menu. In this case, I'm going to change it back. Another useful configuration is to add a Right Side Gutter % of the screen, so that the menu services don't stretch all the way to the right. For example, here's what a service looks like without the Right-Side Gutter, and here's what it looks like with a gutter of 40%. We've just configured the portal on the App Config level. By default, all configuations are inherited on the Profile level. But if you want to override the settings for a particular profile; select your profile, open the Profile Config panel, and in the Portal Config section, you can add the desired properties to override the inherited values. So if I change the Background Color now, it will only affect the Student profile, and not other profiles. There are also configurations available on the Menu Options level. By default, all Menu Services appear both as tiles and as options in the navigation sidebar. If you want to clean up the sidebar a little bit, you can hide a specific service, for example Careers. We can select that Menu Option, and we can add proprties under either Tile Config or Sidebar Config. If we want to hide it from the sidebar, then we'll select the Hide property under Sidebar Config. And now you can see that the Career Menu Option has been removed from the sidebar. You can customize the appearance of individual services in the menu in other ways, such as adding an icon. Simply select the service and add the desired property. When you're done, click Save & Publish. campusM will now function as a Portal for visitors via web. Thank you!
