Dear Aleph version 20 Customers,

In the latest version 20 Service Pack there was a regression caused by rep_change #3444.

In some cases, the web server timed out when trying to display items or holdings in a record's full view web page.

We apologize for the inconvenience this regression has caused. 

We have fixed the cause of this regression.

After downloading the service pack # 20.2.3 (3488) you can get and implement the fix for this problem from our ftp server as follows.

Follow these six steps:

ONE

Log onto your Aleph server

 

TWO

get new program file 

ftp ftp.exlibris.co.il (or ftp 212.179.57.155)
public
Atg!nG55s
cd fix_after_sp_3488

get get_external_link.cbl.
quit

 

THREE

back up current executable

 

cp -p $aleph_exe/get_external_link.gnt $aleph_exe/get_external_link.gnt.before.fix

 

FOUR

Copy file to new location and compile new program

cp get_external_link.cbl $alephm_source/com

 

iprou com get_external_link

 

FIVE

Make sure you have new executable:

 

cd $aleph_exe

ls -lrt get_external_link.gnt 

[see current time and date]

 

SIX

Restart web server with util W 3 1
