ADAM digital objects from PC and web

Description:
When I add digital objects, both pictures and textual articles, do they have to be on the PC network? I want to add them while they are on another server which I access via the internet, using a URL such as http://www.something.com/picture.jpg or http://www.something.com/article.txt . Can I use ADAM when the pictures and articles are on the internet?
