ALEPH login not valid; Check your GUI configuration

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
You get the message, "ALEPH login not valid; Check your GUI configuration" when you try to logon to a particular server.

    Resolution:
    1. This message indicates that the username which you have entered is not valid for this server. You need to right-click on the skeleton key in the lower right-hand corner, select "Login as Another User", and enter a username and password which are valid for this server. OR

    2. If the message occurs just after upgrade to a new version, make certain that the pc has the GUI for the new version. You can't take a v20 GUI and upgrade it to v22 via Version Control. The v22 server gui500.exe needs to be brought down to the PC and run on it.
In order to speed up this process, you can "repackage" the GUI with your local changes and install that one on the pc's (rather than the default gui500.exe).
