Automatic change to "setenv local_currency" with release 22.1

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 22

    Problem Symptoms:
As part of installing the 22.1 release, "setenv local_currency" in alephe/aleph_start was changed (by the system) from CAD to EUR. aleph_start is not listed in Aleph-22-1-minor-release spreadsheets or in the Aleph SP mechanism.

    Cause:
    Uncertain.

    Resolution:
aleph_start is a file which needs to be adjusted to local settings. If there are changes to aleph_start in a new version, those changes need to be integrated into the local aleph_start.

Note: The only change to aleph_start in the Minor Release is the addition of the "setenv number_ue_21_processes" (in rep_change 2029). This is optional.

If this isn't needed, the existing 22.0 aleph_start can and should be used as is. If it is needed, add it to the local 22.0 aleph_start as described in the rep_change (see below).

    Additional Information

    Implementation Notes from v22 rep_change 2029:

In order to enable the parallel running of ue_21 into several processes, the following variable must be added, either in the publishing library prof_library file or in aleph_start:

setenv number_ue_21_processes n (where 1<=n<=9) The maximum number of processes is 9.

Note: It is recommended that the number of processes doesn't exceed half the number of CPU's in the server.

In order to activate the change, the ue_21 job must be stopped (util e/22). Then:

    - if the variable is defined in prof_library for library xxxxx, the command "dlib xxxxx" must be run, then util e/21 to restart the daemon job.

    - if the variable is defined in aleph_start, the command "source aleph_start" must be run, the util e/21 to restart the daemon job.
