    Booking request - Availability button

    Description:
We are in the process of setting up media booking. When you go to create a booking request in the client there is an ‘Availability’ button on the form. When you click on it you are taken to the OPAC page which displays the item availability table. The problem is that the table is set to not available for all days and times which is not correct.

On the OPAC page if you click on ‘Click here to view Items Availability separately’ you get a page that says ‘Can’t perform Booking Request due to the following errors: Cannot find patron’s local information.’

If you then try to click on ‘My Library Card’ in the header you get the log in page with the ‘USR00’ header and it says ‘Patron name does not exist’.

If you go ahead and place the booking request in the client, then go to the OPAC and log in as that patron, search for the item and click on ‘Booking’ the correct item availability table displays.

    Resolution:
When you create a booking request via the GUI you must be signed in with a staff user ID (Z66-USER-NAME) that has a patron record with the same ID (Z303-ID)
We recommend creating a staff login specifically for Booking requests functionality, It is only the Availability button that needs this matching patron ID to exist; you can create booking requests logged in with any user ID, but in order to use the Availability button the staff should use the temporary override button and login with the specific Advance Booking staff login.
