Can Item Status be Checked in Evaluation of Items that Fulfill Hold Request?

    • Article Type: Q&A
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 21

    Question

There is a bibliographic record with 2 items.
    * 1 item can be loaned and can be requested.
    * 1 item cannot be loaned and cannot be requested.
But, when booking this title, the booking is happening on both items.
    Why?

    Answer

In the xxx50/tab/tab100 file, the parameter HOLD-REQUEST-ITM-STATUS must be equal Y.
This setting forces Aleph to consider Item Status when deciding if an item can be a match that can be used to fulfill a request for an item, that is, a "like" item.

    Additional Information

See also xxx50/tab/tab_hold_request for settings related to checking hold requests (for example, check_hold_request_o).
