Cannot see Global Patron Information"; Circ client crashes with memory error

When I try to open an ABC50 patron (or bring up the patron list) I either get an "Unable to find Global Patron Information" error message or the Circ client crashes with a memory error: " The instruction at "0xXXXXXXXX" referenced memory at "0xXXXXXXXX", The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate that program. "

We *are* able to access USM50 global patron information successfully.

Resolution:
This was like cause #1 in KB 3894: The ABC50 $data_root/bor_pics directory lacked the required default_picture.jpg file.
