Changing URL characters in "Global Changes (manage-21)"

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Desired Outcome Goal:
Using the service "Global Changes (manage-21)" an error message appears when trying to change text in an URL because some characters are not allowed to change.

    Error message:
The following characters can not be used ?{'`^>,

    Procedure:
Unfortunately it's not possible to use some specific characters in the "Global Changes (manage-21)" menu. However it's possible to change text including such characters by adding the Unicode decimal character combination instead. For the according characters these are

    ? \%3F
    { \%7B
    ' \%27
    ` \%60
    ^ \%5E
    > \%3E
    , \%2C
So it's possible to change e.g.
    http://Test-Ex-Libris\%3FURL
    ... to ...
    http://Test-Ex-Libris\%3FTEST
