Closed transactions not credited when material is returned

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
We would like items that have been paid for to be credited the replacement cost when the item is returned.

In tab100, we have the credit method for replacement cost set at 100%, as well as lost-loan-credit-method set to 1 (to credit closed transactions). When lost items that have been paid for are returned, no credit is issued.

I created a scenario with patron barcode B7599 -- I loaned item 31001011625515 to the patron, declared it lost, paid for it, and then returned the item. Cash transaction 200703292118428 (replacement cost) should have been credited.

    Resolution:
There can be no space between the equal sign and the first number in the REFUND-RATE in tab100....

REFUND-RATE= 0 100 0 does not work. (It interprets the first space as zero, as though it's "0 0 100".)

    REFUND-RATE=0 100 0 works.

See KB 5822 for a general discussion of the crediting of returned Lost items.
