Column 4 (next extent allocation) in file_list is "0K"

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
The size for the "next extent allocation" field in the file_list of our version 16 libraries is 0K for all tables and indexes. Is this an acceptable value?

Might it have anything to do with the "rollback segment number n ...too small" message?

    Resolution:
0" is the normal value for "next extent allocation" in 16.02-up (Oracle 9- up).

With Oracle 9-up, Locally-Managed-Tablespace is the default. In Locally-Managed-Tablespace the secondary allocation is not determined by the library's file_list but by Oracle.

Note that the ./aleph/tab/file_list.xxxx templates all have 0 for the secondary allocation.

This is unrelated to the "rollback segment number n ...too small" message.
