Crash creating HOL record: "Error: create_library_file_name - no env variable.."

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
We are now having several people having a client crash when trying to create holdings. The error I see in the log file is:

    DESCRIPTION: Create HOL Document
    ACTION :
    PROGRAM : pc_com_c0103

Error: create_library_file_name - no env variable found for ^B 0\o_dev
    defaulting to aleph_dev.... tab100
Error: create_library_file_name - no env variable found for ^B 0\o_dev
    defaulting to aleph_dev.... tab100_pc
    Load: /exlibris/aleph/u18_1/abc60/tab/tab11_ind

    Oracle error: update_cursor z16
    ORA-00911: invalid character
    ...
    Oracle error: update_cursor z30
    ORA-00911: invalid character

    And in another case:

Error: create_library_file_name - no env variable found for 0\o/_dev
    defaulting to aleph_dev.... tab100
    ...
    Oracle error: update_cursor z16
    ORA-00903: invalid table name

    And in a third case:

Error: create_library_file_name - no env variable found for 0y000_dev

    Resolution:
This is most likely a discrepancy between the GUI .\Catalog\bin\catalog.exe and the server programs.

What SP level are you at? When did you last apply a Service Pack?

[From site:] There was a difference in my catalog.exe and everyone else's and it was caused by versioning. So far, the ones I overwritten haven't crashed when creating the holding record.
