Display Patron ID in Hold Requests list?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph

    Description:
I am not sure if this is possible, but am submitting in case it is. It would be very useful if there were a column under Patron Activity, Hold Requests where I could see if the item is currently on loan or not - perhaps the Patron ID that appears under the Item Tab, List of Items. I have a patron coming in later today who would like to have some books waiting for her when she arrives. Looking at her Hold Requests I can see a list of 20 items that she has requested, but right now I need to go into each item record to see if the item is currently on loan or not.

    Resolution:
The columns which can appear in a display in the GUI are limited to those which you see when you right-click on the horizontal bar which has the "Doc No", "Bibliographic Info", "Req Date", etc. Though there's an "ID" and a "Name" column, those do not pertain to the patron who has the item on loan but rather the proxy requester (the z37_requester_id), if there is one -- so I don't believe that there's any way to do what you want in the GUI Circ. The OPAC display, however, is a bit closer....

If you log in as this user and then look at the Hold Requests, the display you see is similar to the GUI, but the "Request Status" column has the additional information "current due date ...". This indicates a) that the item is on loan and (b) when it is due.
