Erroneous "File ... does not exist" in GUI Services job submission

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
In trying to run a job (such as p_item_04), the system doesn't recognize the input file name. (It displays a pop-up with the text "File ... does not exist".) It seems to read only the first three characters of the name I put in the box.

    I

    Resolution:
Though the 16.02 file-check is validating the full file name, the error message displays only the first 40 characters. (In the typical case of "/exlibris/aleph/a16_5/alephe/scratch/xxxxxxxxxx" this is "/exlibris/aleph/a16_5/alephe/scratch/xxx".)

When a correct, existing filename is input, the system accepts it, even if it is longer than 3 characters.

Note: In version 18, no error message appears, since the filename is not validated at this point (only after submission).

    Additional Information

    submission, truncated
