FTP connection not delivering service pack files

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
On Friday I successfully downloaded the files for service pack 3389 to our test server. (The dept always makes a point of downloading the service pack files to our production server, libprd.oit.umn.edu, at the same time as test, so that we can be sure that we're putting the same version into production that we put on test.)

I made room for the new files on both servers and proceeded to download the file onto Test using the SP utility. It took >30 min, but it did finish.

I started the process on Prod at the same time, but that process did not proceed past getting the initial files. I still see ftp processes running on the server, but there's no progress on getting the files - after 48 hours. Here is some relevant info:

    > pwd
    /l01/servicepack/v20/sp
    > ls -ltr

    [Later:]
A second attempt got the same result.

    Resolution:
I suggest that you copy the missing files directly from your Test server.

If you see the problem again with the next Service Pack, we will send that occurrence to 2nd-line Support.

[Please let jerry.specht@exlibrisgroup.com if you see this problem.]
