Find related information using search engine: subfields to be processed

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
Function "Find related information using search engine" in the OPAC services:
    * Data from all subfields are included in the search
    * In full display only some subfields are displayed so it is expected that only these subfields will be processed.

    Cause:
Col. 3 in ./xxx01/tab/tab_service was empty

    Resolution:
In col. 3 of ./xxx01/tab/tab_service the subfields to be processed for search engines can be defined.
    Example:
    6#### www_f_service_engine az

    Additional Information

In the example there is a field with three subfields:
    655 7 |a Acts of Parliament |z Great Britain |2 StDnUD

Only subfields a and z are displayed in the full view in the OPAC. It was expected that the same subfields will be processed when searching in an engine. However while the subfields in the full view are defined in ./xxx01/tab/edit_field.lng, the subfields for search engines are defined in a different place: in column 3 of ./xxx01/tab/tab_service. Since column 3 was empty, also the string "StDnUD" was processed in search.
