GUI “View in OPAC” display has only one location (/holding) in v19

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 19.01

    Description:
In the Cataloging module for v19, we have noticed that if a record has more than one holding attached, the record does not display properly (in the correct order) in the “Browse” window when the “View in OPAC” feature is used.
    1 holding - displays properly
2 holdings GUI - doesn’t display correctly. The holdings are not listed.
2 holdings OPAC - The holdings are listed correctly

This feature displayed correctly in v18.

    Resolution:
I see the following in the ./abc01/tab/tab_sub_lib_sort:

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!!
    WWW-FULL-ITM1 00
    WWW-FULL-ITM3 02
    WWW-FULL-ITM4 02
    WWW-SHORT 02
    WWW-BOR-CASH 00
    WWW-ITEM-LIST-FILTER 00
    PC-FULL-ITM 02
    VENDOR-LIST 00
    CASH-LIST 00
    WWW-FULL-LOC-PST 02

As noted in the tab_sub_lib_sort header,

    "02" = by order of tab_item_list_order, with "preferred library" (determined by profile) in first position;

    The tab_item_list_order has the following:

    XHLTH
    XLAW
    XLINC
    XMUSI
    XSCI
    XARCV
    XELEC
    XRLEC
    XGDOC
    XEDUC
    XUPTN
    ORDU1
    ORDU2
    ORDU3

As you can see, these are the USM sublibraries. You need to put your own sublibraries in here.

    {My theory is that the one location which is displaying is that from the profile and, since none of the sublibraries match these (USM) sublibraries, none of the others display.}

You will need to restart the www_server and pc_server for this tab_item_list_order change to be in effect.

    [From site:]
The tab_sub_lib_sort is not used in our set up for the OPAC. We use tab_sub_lib_sort.xxx instead. This file must have been overwritten in the v19 upgrade and since weren’t using it, we didn’t notice. We now know that it is important for the GUI client, so we will keep it current.
