Global change p-manage-21: how to change tag and subfield

Is it possible to change a subfield code using "Global Changes (manage-21)" in the cataloging module?

Answer

Unfortunately it's not possible to change the subfield using p_manage_21. You can however use the following workflow:

Add the following to your server configuration:

xxx01/tab/tab_fix [add a line]
960 fix_doc_do_file_08 960_fix

xxx01/tab/import/960_fix [new table]

After that ...

1) Select the appropriate records using e.g. p_ret_01
2) Export the records in Aleph Sequential format using p_print_03, SELECT ONLY field 960$$a
3) Load the records back to Aleph using p_manage_18 with options
Procedure to run = Update current records in the database
If Updating Current Records = Replace fields within a record
Fix routine = 960
