    How to setup the form to Email only, and if no valid e-mail exists, not to Print

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Desired Outcome Goal:
    * Sending of slips/letters only to patrons who have a valid e-mail address

    Procedure:
    1. Create a .trn file (or update it if such file already exists for the desired form) under ./xxx01/form_lng directory (for example overdue-sum-single-0-00.trn) with the following line:

    !Tag Type S Parameters
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!-!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!->
    form-print-method EMAIL-ONLY S no_email,MESSAGE

    2. This option distinguishes between slips/letters which do or do not have an empty <email-address> tag in the XML file.
    3. The slips that do not have e-mail addresses are put in the ./xxx50/print/no_email directory.
    4. The second parameter, MESSAGE, is not mandatory.
    5. Restart the PC Server

    Additional Information

    EMAIL-ONLY option is available from Aleph 17.
    In Aleph 16 you must have a PC tied to a default dummy printer that is not able to print for any reason (non-existing etc.).
