Imported e-book records overwrites existing records in Aleph (Libris)

    Question

When importing records for e-resources from Libris (Swedish National Union Catalog) the new record overwrites the old record (which should not happen) when the record’s Control No. (MARC field 001) is the same as the number in 035 subfield 9 of an already existing record in Aleph. Why?

    Answer

Field 001 from incoming record is checked against field 035 from database record. The match is done using the following paramaters:

    xxx01/tab/tab_match
    LRIMP match_doc_uid I-UID

Check only against field 001. In this case the entry in xxx01/tab/tab_match should be:
    LRIMP match_doc_uid I-NR

    Additional Information

Specific problem with importing records from Libris using elib procedures. Only relevant for Scandinavian customers.
