Incorrect version being offered as update

Description:
We seem to be having the same issue with the service pack installation. We installed SP 1739-1871 on our test server; when I opened my GUI client (I usually use the circ client), I used the Advance update feature. When I did, I was rather puzzled with the choice of updates available to me. Please see the attached screenshot of the Advance update dialog.

Resolution:
I now see that my analysis of this situation in KB 16384-11569 was incorrect. I was assuming that the version with today's date (the date of the SP install) was the current version, but I now see that the $aleph_root/service_pack/proc/action_pc_backup proc does a "touch" of the file being backed-up in some cases, which gives it the current date....

The date of the current, unsuffixed version is *not* today's date, but rather the date that the Service Pack was created. Thus, the acq.exe in the June 1 Service Pack has a date of "Jun 1".
the acq.exe in the Oct. 1 Service Pack has a date of "Oct 1".

Comparing the mordecai ./pc_exe/sp_exe./xxx/bin/ *.exe files to those on a known successful installation of SP 1871 (Notre Dame's Test server) (see below), I see that the unsuffixed version (the version which will actually be used) is the same in every case. (In every case the unsuffixed version is the "Oct 1" version and the sizes are exactly the same.) Note: ND installed SP's 1411, 1613, and 1871; while you installed 1323, 1485, 1738, and 1871.

The difference is that the version with the "sp.1871" suffix on the ND server in each case is the "Apr 9" version (the date of the immediately preceding April 2008 Service Pack).

On your Test server, the Jun 1 2008 *.exe file is the one which should have the "sp.1871" suffix (that is, the Jun 1 SP file which was superceded by the Oct. 1, Service Pack 1871, file).

Thus, I have done the following:

I suggest that you go ahead and do the version_check on your pc to get the current version of each
