Installing the ALEPH Service Pack if you require use of SFTP

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

We are trying to run the UTIL-SP utility to download and install the latest ALEPH SP.
However, the procedure uses standard FTP and we only allow SFTP.
I've tried modifiying the ALEPH procedures to use SFTP instead of FTP, but the utility fails.
    What can I do?

SFTP will not work with the UTIL-SP utility.
However, you can still install the Service Pack using the older SP install mechanism. This allows you to explicitly SFTP the necessary files.
Then you process the downloaded files as described in the ALEPH Service Pack document. Then you just need to run the sp.install procedure and install the Service Pack in the normal fashion.
See the attached document for a detailed description of the process (this is an old version from before the service pack mechanism was automated).
