Is authority Z01 used by bib p_manage_102 and p_manage_02?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
We find (in the ABC01 Headings) that we are missing most of the cross-references from our MeSH authority records (in abc12), so we'll be rebuilding the headings soon.

Should we re-index abc12 entirely, before running manage-102 and manage-02 in abc01? We're not clear on whether abc12 indexes play into the building of the abc01 browse indexes.

    Resolution:
When you are running p_manage_102, as in:

    manage_102 ABC01,ABC10,...
    manage_102 ABC01,ABC12,...
    manage_02 ABC01.

    the manage_102 does *not* use the ABC10 Z01 or the ABC12 Z01 -- or any ABC10/12 indexes -- it reads the ABC10 / ABC12 Z00 directly and only.

Nor does the p_manage_02 in the bib library read the authority Z01. (The converse is also true: p_manage_02 in the authority library does not look at the bib library Z01.)

*But* before starting ue_08 in ABC01 you need to have run p_manage_02 for ABC10 and ABC12, since the ue_08 *does* look at the authority Z01.
