Is there a limit to the z309/circ logs retrieval via the Gui Circ?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23

    Description:
    - There are 1,568,541 z309/circ logs are attached to the same patron
    - As a result: system performance slows down when we try to retrieve patron's information + system error pops up when click on the "Circulation log" link on the patron window.

    Resolution:

The article  "GUI Circulation Log maximum" ( https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Aleph/Knowledge_Articles/Recent_changes_not_showing_up_in_ARC/Item_shows_as_unavailable_in_Primo_--_even_after_reshelved/Like-item_logic/Hold_requests_slow_for_certain_serials_items/GUI_Circulation_Log_maximum ) describes a maximum of 64,000 z309's which can display in the GUI for a particular patron.

The following article shows how to determine which z309 records cir-78 is not deleting:  "cir-78 is stalled" ( https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/...-78_is_stalled )

The following articles address the topic of deleting old z309 records....

"v21/v22 cir-78 runs longer than previously, not removing z309 records it should"

    Additional Information

The z309_rec_key is 27 bytes, consisting of the Z309-ID plus the Z309-SEQUENCE.

The Z309-ID is the 12-byte patron ID and the Z309-SEQUENCE is 15 bytes, with the format yyyymmddnnnnnn.

So there's a limit of 999,999 z309's per patron, per day -- but that's the only limit to the number of z309 records.
