    Item process status popup message which doesn't remove status

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
    We are preparing to run a global item status change to remove items from our collection. Our current process is to change the "item process status" to WD (withdrawn), some of these items may still be checked out to a customer. If the item gets returned, is there a way for a message to pop up if/when the item gets checked back in that will state the item is "withdrawn"?

    The Item Process Status for MI does something similar, but it removes the status.

    In circ.ini ...

    [General]
    NotifyProcessStatus=Y

    In message.dat
    ProcessStatusRemoved #Item Process Status O I The item
    had a process status of "%s" ("%s") which has been removed

    Can we do something similar for items that are withdrawn?

    Resolution:
    [From Aaron Bales, Notre Dame U, on Global Aleph Users Discussion:]

    In the guisys.ini file (in the circ/tab directory) you can set

    ProcessStatus=Y

    separately in the return & loan sections of the file. This will just display the status, and not alter or remove it.
