    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
Our bindery staff are currently receiving the following error message while trying to connect to the ExLibris server checking books in or checking books out via the LincPlus software):

Error: Could not connect on C1601

    Resolution:
    Check these values:.

    1) $alephe/tab/license has:.
    EXT-BIND Y.

    2) $alephe/tab/tab_version should have this line:
    no_ver ALEPH Y 0.

    3) pc_server_defaults enable either an item process status change (to SB) or a loan:.
    setenv ext_bind_process_status SB.
    setenv ext_perform_loan N.
    setenv ext_default_return_hour 2359.
    setenv ext_bind_ref_no_1 LCNum,010,a.
    setenv ext_bind_ref_no_2 ISBN,020,a.
    setenv ext_bind_ref_no_3 ISSN,022,a.

    4) Setup on (LINCPlus) client:
    Host name: lakepark.exlibris-usa.com [example]
    Port#: 6525 [pc_port].
    Library Name: xxx50 [ADM library].
User Name: BINDER [see more below].
    Server password: BINDER.
Bindery Account: ICI [see more below].
    Server Version: no_ver

    6) Data in xxx50:.
user (ADMIN) BINDER/BINDER [for example] has privileges in ADM library;.
user (CIRC) ICI [for example] has local privileges for loan, in case of loan;.
barcode (e.g. 888-10) is ready for testing.

Note: In this particular case, it was the lack of the tab_version line (see #2 above) which caused error.
