Lock catalog record automatically

Question:
Can we setup any tab to lock a catalog record if a librarian opens a record from the server?
Answer:
You can define the number of seconds for default_lock_period and doc_lock_period (you can reach up to 24 hours this way).
There is no way to permanently lock a record.
