Making Booking link appear for OPAC item even when patron not logged in

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
We are in the process of setting up booking and are trying to display the booking link in the public catalog before a patron logs in. Has anyone done this? If so, how? The only way I can get it to display is if I comment out all BK-PRE lines in xxx50/tab/tab_hold_request.

    Resolution:
The BK-PRE lines in xxx50/tab/tab_hold_request represent conditions which will prevent the booking link from displaying.

It would be surprising if all of these lines prevent the link from displaying for all patrons, for all titles.

You need (through testing) to narrow it down as to exactly which BK-PRE lines are preventing the display and then either comment those lines out or change the tables/data so that they work as you expect.

    [From site:]
The problem was a combination of tab_hold_request and a setting we had in tab37_booking_pickup.
