    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
You see a particular Oracle error message number and want to know what it means.

Entering the command "oerr ora nnnn" (where nnnn is the message number) at the unix command prompt will give you the meaning of the message number.

    Examples:

If you get ORA-7300, "ora" is the facility and "7300" is the error. Thus, you type "oerr ora 7300".

If you get LCD-111, type "oerr lcd 111".
