OPAC Course Browses get results only when preceded by "1"

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
OPAC Course Instructor, Course Name, etc., Browse indexes get results only when the name is preceded by the number "1" -- otherwise, they get "Browse request found no entries".

    Resolution:
This is because the COU Course Name ACC index and the INS Instructor ACC index Z01_filing_key's begin with "1", such as:

    03 acc_code ..............INS
    03 alpha .................L
    03 filing_text ...........1 ALBAHARI MAURIZIO

    03 acc_code ..............INS
    03 alpha .................L
    03 filing_text ...........1 ALVAREZ ANGEL

This is because the CNO-1 and CNO-3 fields both begin with a $$81 subfield:

    CNO-1 L $$81$$aModern Liturgy Seminar
    CNO-3 L $$81$$aJeffery, Peter

You need to change your tab11_acc entries from:

    CNO#1 COU
    CNO#3 INS

    to:

    CNO#1 COU a
    CNO#3 INS a
