    Obsolete smon_aleph20 oracle process running even after Oracle restart

    Description: 
    After going from Aleph v20 to v22 (both on the same server) and eliminating the oracle .../product/11 (v20) line from /exlibris/startup/init.dat and restarting Oracle, "ps -ef | grep smon_aleph20" shows the ora_smon_aleph20 process still running. 

     

    Resolution: 
    The "ps -ef |grep" shows that the smon_aleph20 process was started on Aug12 (prior to the update of the init.dat): 

    oracle 26377 1 0 Aug12 ? 00:03:26 ora_smon_aleph20 

    A restart of this server did *not* occur after the move to version 22. Perhaps the 11r2 (v22) Oracle, but that would have had no effect on the already-running aleph20 Oracle process. Rebooting the server will stop this ora_smon_aleph20, and, assuming it's been omitted from init.dat, it will not be restarted.
