    Oracle datapump errors; "Corrupt block" messages

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
    The following errors appear in the Upgrade Express

    ORA-39014: One or more workers have prematurely exited.
    ORA-39029: worker 3 with process name "DW01" prematurely terminated
    ORA-31672: Worker process DW01 died unexpectedly.
    ...
    ...
    ORA-31693: Table data object "XXX50"."Z00P" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error:
    ORA-02354: error in exporting/importing data
    ORA-22922: nonexistent LOB value

    Corrupt block messages are seen in the Oracle alert log:

    Corrupt block relative dba: 0x028576a9 (file 10, block 358057)
    Corrupt block relative dba: 0x0285b539 (file 10, block 374073)
    <etc.>

    Cause:
    Corrupt block messages indicate a problem with the database and, probably, the disk.

    Resolution:
    A DBA should be consulted.

    If the problem is
    * with an Oracle index, try running util a/17/4 to drop and util a/17/2 to recreate the index;
    * with a temporary table (such as the vir01 tables), run the job to reinitialize the tables;
    * with an Aleph index table, try running the job to rebuild the index.

    Additional Information

    See Article 000023573 ("Which tables are index, temporary, and base tables?") in regard to determining which type of table it is.
