    Oracle error: io_z98t_write4

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 21
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct; Direct; Local; Total Care

    Problem Symptoms:
After activation of z98t-mechanism (new in Aleph 21) to speed up handling of documents in indexing daemon ue_01 in libraries XXX01 and XXX10 we see in ue_01-logfiles of other libraries (e.g. XXX02, XXX60):

    Oracle error: io_z98t_write4
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

In these libraries we do not want to use z98t-meachnism on purpose.

    Cause:
During aleph_startup the env variable word_queue is read from ./xxx01/prof_library and this setting will also be used for all other libraries.

    Resolution:
    - In all libraries that should not use Z98t-mechanism ([aut_library]/prof_library, [hol_library]/prof_library , [ill_library]/prof_library and [adm_library]/prof_library) deactivate the flag :
    setenv word_queue N
    - Stop ue_01: util e/2
    - Start ue_01: util

    Additional Information

For more information on the z98t-mechanism see Aleph System Librarian's Guide - Indexing (page 9)

    Note:
In all other libraries (AUT, ADM, ILL and HOL libraries) that should not use this mechanism - it should be deactivate by setting the "word_queue" flag to "N" in prof_library:
    setenv word_queue N
