Serial schedule limitation in ACQ module

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

ACQ, serial schedule: it’s no possible to add a value higher than 9999 although there are serials which have a higher issue number.

Currently it’s only possible to add 4 characters to field “Issue No. (Enum. B).” in the schedule in serials module.

    Resolution

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do with the Z12 serial schedule method, the limit of 4 digits comes from the Z12 table.

However, there is another way to define a serial schedule pattern: through the 853/853X fields (added to ADM or HOL docs). In this definition there is no character limit to the Enum-b field. It can be defined through the "Pattern" option under Control [Schedule] in the serial left-hand tree.

This is in accordance with the USMARC standard.
