    Parallel indexing -- abc04 shows lots of z00s

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
    We're hoping to reload authority-processed bibs this afternoon (that's in process) and rebuild the browses over the weekend in parallel. Step 3 of the parallel indexing doc says that there should be 0 z00s in the parallel library (abc04 in our case), but

    abc04@ALEPH0> select count(*) from z00;
    **** Hit return to continue ****

    COUNT(*)
    ----------
    5043092

    1 row selected.

    Please advise.

    Resolution:
    util a/17/5/1 in abc04 shows the following:

    Enter value for lib: ABC04
    Z00 ABC01 Z00
    Z0102 ABC01 Z0102
    Z103 ABC01 Z103
    Z970 ABC01 Z970

    This means that abc04 already has a synonym pointing the z00 (and the other tables shown) to abc01.

    If you do this:

    > s+ abc04
    SQL> drop table z00;

    you will be dropping the ABC01 z00! You do *not* want to do this. You do not need to create synonyms in fcl04 because they already exist.
