Parallel indexing of Words -- how to handle z980?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
We have run p_manage_01 over the weekend successfully, and it generated z95, z97, and z98 tables as expected in sys21 (parallel library). This morning we have backed up z95, z97, z98, and z980 in sys01 (using p_file_03) and renamed each file with ".save" extension. Then we backed up (again, using p_file_03) and copied over to sys01 $data_files directory the sys21 indexing tables z95, z97, and z98.

Before we use p_file_04 to import the newly generated indexing tables into sys01, we want to ask about the z980 table already in sys01. Should the p_file_04 process be run with this table too (replacing the sys01.z980 table of 2,063,552 records with the sys21.z980 table of 0 records), or should we just leave it alone?

    Resolution:
The SYS01 z980 needs to be zero-ed out. This can be done using util a/17/1.
